Summer cruise 2020

Barren moonscape

We walked most of the way around Grande Ile, the main island of the Chausey archipelago. It was low tide and the pilot book quite rightly describes it as a barren rock-strewn moonscape. With a tidal range of around 11 metres today most of those rocks will be underwater later this evening.

This little harbour completely dries out at low tide leaving just the boats in the main channel afloat.
